June 18th, INTERNATIONAL NEW MUSIC RADIO SHOW
Featuring :
Grim Legion was created in the mid 1980’s by founding member, Devlin Bane. Line-up changes were frequent, as the right formula was being put in place. Throughout the 80’s, the band tore up the Jersey shore and Staten Island with the classic line-up of Bane, Joe Mara on bass, and revolving drummers of Joe Inga and Magan Bane.
In the 90’s, Markus Misery took the reigns of Bass, and Grim Legion was solidified until a break-up. Grim Legion was gone until Mike Blood from Sacrificial Blood demanded the return. He was so pivotal in the reformation that he was added on Drums. Adding Mike to the foundation of Bane and Misery solidified the band. In late 2011 Grim Legion took the stage for the first time in well over a decade. The EP Unholy Resurrection was recorded shortly thereafter.
Grim Legion are doing regular shows and are stronger than ever. The summer of 2012 will begin the recording of a full length album. Show dates and other info can be found at the official facebook and twitter pages or by email. Songs can be heard on Reverb Nation.

Destranged is a Rock band based out of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. In the production stages of their debut/independent album, these 4 musicians have formed this group to share with the fans the journey that lays ahead. With all members born and raised in Newfoundland, they stand true to their roots and traditions, while at the same time, present a new edge in rock n' roll!!!!"
With lyrics sharper than razor-wire and tunes that stick the boot in, Belter is punk for grown-ups who like a dance.
Theyʼve nicked the buzzsaw drive of The Buzzcocks, The Clashʼs spunk, The Stranglersʼ riffs and some of the best tunes Blondie never wrote. And their singer sounds like Jello Biafra pogoing on a Roxy Music-era Brian Ferry.
The band recorded their first single, TV Junkie, with producer Marc Waterman (Elastica, Ride, Ash) in April 2012.
Their tight, fast-paced set always gets the crowd going, and their songs stay with you for days.

Old Abode formed in the spring of 2011 and later that summer they joined Grammy nominated producer Francisco Santos at Superior Media Group to record their debut album, "Before the Day".
Known for their energetic live shows, (and sometimes non-stop three hour sets) Old Abode delivers their live show presence, colorful harmonies, and clever dynamics wholly to Before the Day.
Press reviews have called Before the Day "a highly satisfying debut" and a "refreshing dose of modern pop-rock" (the Wire) with "Cascading guitars and energetic riffs ... epic guitar solos ...[and] a capable sounding vocalist." (the Deli Magazine). They have been compared to My Morning Jacket, Wilco, and Band of Horses.
Before the Day, released on November 17th 2011, is available at Bull Moose music stores and on iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Rhapsody and Spotify. The first single, the title track, is available for free download at facebook.com/oldabode. The album reached as high as number two on the local charts and many songs have been featured on 92.5 The River (Boston MA) 98.9 WCLZ, 102.9 WBLM (out of Portland ME) and 106.1 WSCA and 91.3 WUNH (out of NH) as well as many other college radio stations. Most recently Old Abode competed in and won the 2012 Portsmouth NH First Night battle of the bands, and were nominated by the New England Music Awards for 2011 Best NH Band.
Shea Ellis’s song arrangements draw equally from a love of alt-country and indie rock to classical and bluegrass. In a former life he was just a lead guitarist. Now he enjoys writing songs, singing, and shredding.
My name is Graham Duval. I am the DRUMMER FOR OLD ABODE. My musical influences stem originally from playing church music. I then was guided by my father’s musical likings - such as Jethro Tull, The Who and Pink Floyd. I feel that listening to John Fishman, the drummer from Phish, taught me how to do a lot on the drums. Now I use inspirations of life as a motivation on what I play.
Glen Coburn is Old Abode's bassist. A musical omnivore, his appreciation for a wide range of music from Mozart to Motown to Metal shows in his playing. He writes melodic, syncopated bass lines that act as a foundation for the band's sound. His accompaniment skills allow for the freewheeling improvisational style that has become a staple of Old Abode live shows.
Adam Kelly Old Abode’s newest member is a classically trained violinist who only plays rock music (which he considers "vulgar") to "get with the ladies". So far, he's been unsuccessful, but here's to hoping.
Before the Day is available at Bull Moose music stores and on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, and Spotify.
Christina Custode (Cus-tō-dē): multi-talented musician and award winning vocalist, recently released her first original recording. The project, which consists of eight songs (all music and lyrics written and arranged by Christina Custode) has put Custode on the singer/songwriter map and has been heralded as an excellent start to a long and promising career.
A graduate from the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, Custode’s music is current, honest, and soaked with the musical integrity the artist upholds in all of her musical endeavors. She has shared the stage with Marvin Hamlisch and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (2005), Chuck Mangione, Lew Soloff, and Pat LaBarbera (Jerry Neiwood Tribute Concert, 2009) and currently performs with numerous jazz groups on piano and vibraphone, as well as a cocktail piano soloist, and as a sideman with numerous blues and commercial bands.
Most recently, her original music has gained notice not only for pristine instrumental and vocal performance quality, but also for its compositional value. Custode was twice named "Buffalo’s Best Female Vocalist" (Artvoice "2010 Best of Buffalo" and “2011 Best of Buffalo”) and currently fronts a pop-rock trio. “Christina Custode and Rerun” were recognized as “Buffalo’s Best Original Music Act” (Artvoice “2011 Best of Buffalo”), Christina being the sole writer for the group.
Christina is an avid supporter of collaboration in the arts, and in December 2010 participated in the production of “The Mistletoe Song” as a gift to the US Military. The project gained immediate local notoriety as her heartfelt vocal performance captured the emotion of the Holiday Season. Her beautiful tone quality and sensitive phrasing helped garner local and national airplay, as well as international exposure on thousands of internet radio stations.
Custode is currently working on a second album of original music set to record Fall 2012. Listeners can expect the same heartfelt, honest lyrics and high quality musical performance that Christina Custode has delivered in the past, and intends on upholding throughout her career.
The Open Feel is the dreamy pop-rock creation of singer Katie Harris and drummer Tom Brayton. Recently hailed as “one of the best bands to watch for in 2011,” the Los Angeles natives self-released their debut EP in December 2010 – the culmination of a journey that began two years earlier when Katie and Tom, who have been a couple for years, decided to finally start writing music together.
“We had no idea what we wanted to write,” explains Katie. “We just started. We knew we wanted to discover who we are musically. We started writing music without worrying about what it was for – we just looked for sounds and songs we gravitated towards with no judgment.”
“We’d been in other bands and gone on tours, but always separately,” remembers Tom. “We finally started to think of possibilities we’d never considered before – like doing our own band. We started getting really into the idea of having a home studio. For better or worse, we knew we had to keep up with the digital revolution and start figuring out how to record our own music ourselves. We have so many talented friends who were willing to come out and record with us, but their schedules were always busy and we were a little out of the way, so we started doing everything ourselves.”
Katie picked up her Telecaster and Tom started woodshedding on their old P-bass and the creative adventure began. Over the next year and a half the duo spent hours in the studio experimenting and songwriting. The ethereal, atmospheric rock sound that would become The Open Feel finally started to take shape. “We just kept at it,” remembers Tom. “We wrote and recorded a lot of songs we really liked, but it didn’t feel like a band yet. All we knew was that we were loving the music we were making together.” The two began recording their debut EP in the summer of 2009 playing all the instruments themselves (with a little help on guitar from good friend Clint Walsh on the song Detach) and taking on engineering and producing duties. Mixed by Will Brierre and mastered by Steve Hall, The Open Feel EP was released in December of 2010.
The Open Feel began performing live in January 2011 and have added Shawn Gatlin on bass to their live lineup.
The band is going back in the studio in late June 2012 to record a new single for an early fall release.
